What sets North Shore Primal apart from other health or fitness coaching programs is the belief that true wisdom is eternal and that working on the mind is the first step in working on the body. Throughout recorded history, many different messengers and teachers have each taught the same fundamental truths about the mind. In order to become the best version of yourself, this program includes deep dives into philosophy both modern and ancient.

It is my belief a study of the great truths with the goal to actively live them allows you to better know yourself. All great leaders first learned to lead themselves, then they were able to lead others. This is the heart of North Shore Primal.

The foundation of leadership is taking responsibility for the things you can control. Controlling your mind allows you to control your response to events and situations. I'm here to help you find the best protocol which works for you.
I am a voracious reader and life long learner. These are some teachers who have had the greatest influence on my fitness and wellness journey. None of these are endorsements of me or my program, they are simply the people who I look to in my understanding of how to best live, learn and teach myself. Each of them has been a part of my journey and I look forward to passing what I have learned from each of them on to you.

Jocko's book Extreme Ownership and his top rated podcast are perfect introductions into my learning on leadership. As an Optimize member and student of the Mastery Program from Optimize, Brian's infectious enthusiasm greet me each morning as I receive his "+1's." Brian teaches through operationalizing virtue via ancient wisdom and modern science to allow us to close the gap between who we are and who we are capable of becoming. OOMMS!

Mark DeSena - Founder Spartan Race
Obstacle course racing or OCR was my first step back into fitness. Spartan Race, the largest and most well known producer of OCR races in the world was created by Mark and his passion to get people out of their comfort zones to get engaged and healthy is inspiring. The fact that he carries a kettlebell with him wherever he goes is legendary. Tough Mudder is now owned and operated by Spartan. Aroo!

The most explosive and fastest growing fitness trend of the past decade is unarguably Cross-Fit. There is so much to learn from what Greg has created and love it or hate it, CrossFit gets results.

Tim Ferriss - Author, Podcaster, Angel Investor, BioHacker

Tim Ferriss is one of the most interesting interviews. He's been working on optimizing himself and asking the best in the world in all areas of achievement what they do and how they do it so that this wisdom can be shared with others. You absolutely never know what you are going to learn when you check-out what Tim is up to. His books Tools of Titans and Tribe of Mentors are recommended library additions.

Marcus Aurelius - Roman Emperor, Stoic philosopher

Marcus' book Meditations is absolutely timeless wisdom and in our times of uncertainty today, Stoicism is a great antidote to the fears and stresses of modern life. Ryan Holiday's book The Daily Stoic is a great introduction to the Marcus as well as Epictetus, Zeno and the other Stoics. In popular culture, Marcus was the Emperor featured at the beginning of Gladiator.

Jesus of Nazareth

I'm a follower of "The Way" as the earliest followers of Jesus were known before the name Christian became synonymous with the Church. This is the foundation of my worldview. You may be on a different path or have no spiritual beliefs whatsoever, and that is totally OK. I'm here to serve in whatever capacity that helps you with your own journey.
